May 29: The government has allocated Rs 69.38 billion budget for the health sector in the upcoming fiscal year.

Minister for Finance Janadran Sharma made such announcement while presenting the budget for the Fiscal Year 2022/23 in parliament on Sunday.

The budget allocated for health sector in the upcoming fiscal year is less that the budget allocated in the current fiscal year by Rs 52 billion.

Last year, the government had announced a budget of Rs 122 billion for the health sector for FY 2021/22 with focus on prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic.
