Preparations underway to Open Integrated Agriculture Market in Mahendranagar 

April 21: Bhimdatta Municipality of Kanchanpur is constructing an integrated agriculture market for marketing of agricultural products. The municipality is constructing the structure with the help of Sundarpur-based Agribusiness Promotion Support and Training Center.

Municipal engineer Jayaraj Bhatta said that 150 stalls will be constructed in the integrated agricultural market, among which, the municipality is helping construct 100 shutters in collaboration with the center and the rest with its own resources.

Two separate contracts were signed for the construction of the integrated agricultural market structure near the open space of Bhimdutta-4.

A contract worth Rs 15 million was signed with MD Construction for 50 shutters. An agreement worth Rs 39.6 million was signed with MK / Niraj JV for the construction of 100 shutters. According to Engineer Bhatta, 50 percent construction of both the projects is completed. The initial plan is to complete the work by May 2023.

According to Mayor Surendra Bista, after the construction of the structure, all kinds of agricultural products will be integrated and the market will be managed accordingly. The municipality is working to increase agricultural production including introduction of programmes like one ward one product, pocket area programme, as well as providing support like agricultural subsidy, cooperation with the cooperative sector etc. The internal resources of the municipality as well is expected to increase after the construction of the market.
