March 10: Chairman of Kedia Organization Hira Lal Kedia has passed away at the age of 87. He died while undergoing treatment at HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu on Tuesday night, according to his nephew Pradip Kedia.

Kedia, who had been suffering from diabetes since a long time, was recently been diagnosed with pneumonia. Family members have stated that he died due to pneumonia.

Late Kedia's body was brought to his hometown Birgunj on Wednesday. Nephew Pradip Kedia informed that the last rights of the dead body was to be performed in Bagmati of Sarlahi district on Wednesday (March 9) itself. Hira Lal Kedia had been leading the Kedia Organisation after the death of Shankar Lal Kedia, the founder of the business group.

Apart from business, late Kedia was also active in social works. Social organizations and the state have also given various honors to Kedia for his contribution in the field of industry, trade and social services.
