PROTON X50 Spotted in Nepal

March 8: Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of PROTON brand in Nepal, has launched the Proton X50 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in the country.

The company claimed that Proton X50 is the newest addition from the Malaysian carmakers in Nepal.

According to the company, the Proton X50 comes in four variants. The SUV is be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder, and a TGDi (Direct Injection) turbocharged three-cylinder petrol in the top flagship variant. The engines produce 150 PS of Maximum Power and 226 NM of torque with the TGDi engine upping the numbers to 130PS of power and 255 Nm of torque, the company said in a statement.

The Proton X50 has a long list of features, including an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which is only seen in a few premium manufacturers, the company claimed. The Proton X50 SUV, according to the manufacturer's website, includes best-in-class features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBS and BA, Auto Headlights and Wipers, Keyless Entry (with active touch sensors on the front door handles), Push-Start, 360-Degree Camera, 8 Speakers, 8-inch Infotainment Screen, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Climate Control with Smart Air Purifier System, and Electrically Foldable seats.

The Proton X50 also comes with a useful Auto Park feature, a self-parking system.

“The X50 also holds a full 5-star crash test rating from ASEAN-NCAP,” the statement said.

Jagdamba Motors has been selling PROTON since 2020 with variants such PROTON Saga in the entry level sedan segment and the luxurious PROTON X70 in the premium SUV segment.

“PROTON has been able to create a huge impression in the market with their product as well as after sales services and the upcoming X50 will surely boost their presence in the Nepali market while other brands are struggling with stock and inventory in the present scenario,” added the statement.
