Weather Expected to Improve Gradually from Friday   

January 27: The weather, which has been affected due to impact of westerly low pressure system for the past few days, is likely to improve gradually from Friday, January 28.    

Senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Barun Poudel, said that there is possibility of gradual improvement of weather as the weather system is expected to weaken from Friday. “The sky across the country will remain partially to generally cloudy till Thursday,” Poudel said.    

 Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the department cautioned people to adopt necessary safety and precaution to stay safe from cold as there is possibility of light snowfall at some places of high hills and Himalayan region of the country.    

Sudurpaschim and Gandaki provinces have been witnessing generally cloudy weather while the sky in the remaining provinces has been partly cloudy.    

Rainfall occurred at one or two places of Sudurpaschim province on Wednesday. The weather of hill areas of Province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces would remain generally cloudy and the sky of the remaining provinces would be partly cloudy on Thursday, the division said.    

Light rainfall has been forecast at some places of hill areas and light snowfall at some places of high hills and Himalayan region of the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.    

According to the division, the minimum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was 5.6 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature 16.5 degree Celsius on Wednesday. -- RSS
