Westerly Wind likely to Cause Rain, Snowfall

January 20: The westerly wind is likely to cause general changes in weather systems across the country for three days and also bring light rainfall as well as snowfall in some mountainous areas and high hills of the country.    

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Kathmandu has witnessed a fall in mercury level with a foggy sky since early morning today (January 20). The capital has also witnessed light rain, the division informed urging one and all to adopt necessary safety measures as temperature is likely to drop further with chances of rainfall and snowfall.    

Kathmandu’s maximum temperature was recorded at 5.2 degree Celsius and minimum was at 1.8 degree Celsius as per the latest update of the division. -- RSS
