NRB Directs BFIs to Follow Health Protocols Amid Spike in Covid Cases  

Jan 10: With a spike in Covid-19 cases in recent days, the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a circular to bank and financial institutions (BFIs) to take necessary safety measures while providing their services. 
In a circular issued today, the NRB told BFIs to follow health safety protocols issued by the government and the World Health Organization to reduce the risk of infection. 
BFIs have been told to make necessary arrangements to provide their services by maintaining physical distance and avoid crowding. 
In its circular, the central bank also directed BFIs to make arrangement of keeping the door of ATM booths open and ensure that there is hand sanitizer in the booth. 
NRB also asked BFIs to ensure that the physical distance is maintained in their meeting, seminars or trainings or conduct them virtually.
