December 24: The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) is making preparations to publish the report of the national census of local-level for the first time.    

Only district-level reports of census used to be published till the last census held in 2011 AD. Director of the Bureau, Dhundiraj Lamichhane, told RSS that the local-level statistics report was going to be published for the first time since the government adopted the state restructuring system.    

All the 77 districts have already sent the forms of population count of 2021 census to the centre. The CBS has made preparations to enter the details in computer till mid-January, 2022. The task of entering the details will be completed within six months.    

Lamicchane shared that the report would be made public in the beginning of the next fiscal year. The CBS is preparing to release separate census report of the centre, provinces, districts and local levels this year. This year, the national census was held from November 11 to 25.

The census is held once in every 10 years in Nepal. The first census was held 109 years back in 1968BS during the premiership of Chandra Shumsher Rana. -- RSS
