Government Appoints Rabindra Ghimire as Chairman of Nepal Reinsurance Company

October 26: The government has appointed Rabidra Ghimire as the chairman of Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday (October 25) appointed Ghimire to the post for a four-year term.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also the spokesperson of the government, confirmed that the cabinet meeting on Monday appointed Ghimire as the chairman of the company.

Ghimire is a professor at the Pokhara University School of Business as well.

Similarly, Madan Pokharel has been appointed to the position of director of the company. Nepal Reinsurance Company is a government-owned company.

The cabinet meeting also approved the resignation of the chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation Sushil Ghimire and appointed Yubaraj Adhikari as the Acting chairman of the state-owned airline company.

Sushil Ghimire had resigned on moral grounds after the change in government. He was reportedly appointed chairman of NAC upon the recommendation of former minister Yogesh Bhattarai.
