PM Reassures of Relief to Survivors of Floods and Landslides   

October 25: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has assured of relief assistance to the survivors of recent incidents of water-induced disasters across the country.    
Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport on Sunday, the Prime Minister Deuba said that the government would ensure food and proper shelter for the affected households.    
Expressing sorrow over the losses of valuable lives and properties to the incidents of floods and landslides, the head of the government thanked security personnel engaged in the rescue and relief efforts in the disaster-hit areas.    
The Prime Minister said that the Council of Ministers would soon meet to take necessary decisions for providing relief to the survivors. He also took time to say that the government would work in a planned way for the prevention and mitigation of possible floods and landslides in the future.    
He pledged to provide immediate relief to the victims by making a short and long term plans. On the occasion, Chief District Officer, Morang, Kashi Raj Dahal apprised the PM of the losses caused by flooding and landslides.    
PM Deuba also inspected the affected areas of Ilam and Panchthar districts the same day, said assistant CDO Mahesh Timsina.    
The PM was accompanied by Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal and Vice President of the Nepali Congress Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar.     -- RSS
