Home Ministry Denies Issuing Order to ban Public Gatherings

October 1: The Ministry of Home Affairs has clarified that the government has not issued any order to impose a ban on organising meetings, assemblies and gatherings to be conducted in line with constitution, existing laws and by following the health protocol issued by the government for containing COVID-19.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, spokesperson of the ministry Phadindra Mani Pokharel said that no such order has been issued to ban the events that can be organized by following the health protocols.
The ministry also said that its serious attention has been drawn towards the public’s concerns regarding the orders issued by the district administration offices of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.
Earlier on Thursday, the district administration offices of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur had requested the public not to hold unnecessary gatherings, conferences, processions, and festivals, arguing that the risk of corona virus infection was yet to subside.  -- RSS
