Manang Opens up for Foreign Tourists amid Declining Threat of Covid-19 Infection

September 29: The District Administration Officce, Manang has allowed entrance of foreign tourists to the district amid risk of COVID-19 pandemic. But the DAO has imposed health protocol for the tourists saying that they submit a COVID-19 test report, hotel bookings and certificate of vaccination against the virus, informed Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane.    
"The infection has not yet under full control. Only the rate of infection has declined. Health protocols should be followed while reviving tourism amid the risk of infection," he said.    
The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the district COVID-19 crisis management committee and the district administration office, he said.    
Anyone visiting the district needs to take permission from the district administration beforehand.    
Some of the major tourist destination in and around Manang include the Tilocho Lake (4919 Meters), Thorang La pass, Mutkinath Temple, and Annapurna Circuit.    
Besides, tourists arrive here in course of climbing the Annapurna II, IV, Lamjung, Gangapuran, Ganesh Himal and Nilgiri mountain range.    

The peak season for tourism is from September to November in general. -- RSS
