Nepal Railway Company Dismisses Daily Wage Workers

September 7: The Nepal Railway Company Limited (NRCL) has expelled its daily wage workers appointed by the NRCL's erstwhile leadership. The workers have been asked not to record their attendances at their own will, according to a statement issued by NRCL managing director Niranjan Kumar Jha.
The persons who are told to be appointed at the office as daily wagers have been recording their attendances. Wages are not payable on the basis of attendances recorded at one's own will with the office not deploying anyone for work, reads the statement.
It would take some time to operate the Jayanagar-Kurtha railway due to legal and technical reasons, the company added. --RSS
