April 30: The state-owned Food Management and Trading Company Limited (FMTC) has started free home delivery of food items within the Kathmandu Valley.

The company informed that it started the home delivery service considering the difficulty faced by the general public in purchasing food and other essentials due to the prohibitory order enforced by the local administration.

Issuing a statement on Thursday (April 29), FMTC informed that it has started free home delivery of essential food items including beans from Karnali, Marsi rice, ghee, edible oil, sanitizers among others. Customers living inside the ring road can order the items through the company’s website www.nepalfood.gov.np while those living outside the ring road and within the valley can avail the service through www.sastodeal.com. The service is available in all three districts of the valley, according to FMTC.

The company informed that it has adequate stock of food and has urged people not to stockpile food items due to fear of short supply.

The company has been selling food items through its distribution centers at Nakhhu, Ram Shah Path, Thapathali and Suryabinayak during morning and evening hours.
