Price of Chicken Feed Likely to Increase

February 28: Nepal Feed Industries Association is preparing to increase the price of chicken feed. The association is preparing to hike the price as the cost of raw material required for production of chicken feed has gone up. The association, which had earlier increased the price of feed by Rs 2 per kg in January, is likely to increase the price by an additional Rs 2 per kg.
According to the association, soybean is the main ingredient for chicken feed, and the price of soybean in the international market and its transportation fare has gone up. That is why the price of feed has to be increased,
informed Rabin Puri, president of the Nepal Feed Industries Association. "We are preparing to increase the price within the next two weeks," he added.
He indicated that the price of soybean is likely to go up further this month.
According to him, the price of soybean that was Rs 65 per kg in November, has increased to Rs 80. Although there is no specific reason for the rise in price of soybean, traders have raised prices under the pretext of rising cost in the international market.
