Russia Ready to Help Expand Railway Service in Nepal

February 16: Russia has shown its interest in expansion of railway services in Nepal, according to the state-owned national news agency (RSS).

Russian Ambassador to Nepal Aleksei Novikov while paying a courtesy call on Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport Basant Kumar Nembang at the latter’s office in Singh Durbar on Monday, reportedly shared interest in investing in the expansion of railway service in the country. 

According to RSS, the delegation led by the ambassador has submitted letter of intent to the Ministry.    
On the occasion, Minister Nembang said that the bilateral ties between the two countries have remained cordial since long. He added that the government is ready to share the DPR prepared for metro rail in Kathmandu.
