Prime Minister Oli Lays Foundation Stone of Lumbini Cable Car

February 14: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has laid the foundation stone for construction of a cable car connecting Butwal and Palpa.  

The prime minister on Saturday (February 13) laid the foundation stone at Bamghat, Butwal for the construction of Lumbini Cable Car that would connect Chidiyakhola of Butwal to Basantapur of Palpa. The length of the cable car will be 3 kilometers.

The estimated cost of the cable car project is said to be around 3. 5 billion rupees. The Government of Nepal has already authorized Lumbini Cable Car Private Limited to use 6.27 hectares of forest that lies between Rupandehi and Palpa for 25 years.

Addressing the program, Prime minister K P Sharma Oli said he expects that the cable care to become operational a year. The prime minister added that the government has given high priority for partnership between the government and private companies

Senior Vice President of FNCCI Chanfra Prasad Dhakal, who is also the chairman of IME Group – one of the investors of the cable car project- informed that the construction will be expedited and the cable car project will be complete within the deadline. The other investor of the project is Sharma and Company.
