Remittance Inflow Remains Above Average Despite Coronavirus Pandemic

September 30: Inflow of remittance to Nepal has been above average in the last few months despite fears that the coronavirus pandemic would lead to a decline in remittance to Nepal.

Inflow of remittance has remained above average in the last four months. During mid-August to mid-September, remittance inflow to Nepal was around Rs 85 billion, according to Nepal Remitters’ Association, which is above average.

According to the latest date, the average monthly inflow of remittance to Nepal is Rs 73 billion.

The inflow of remittance in mid-July to mid-August was 92.71 billion. It means that the remittance inflow in the first two months of the current fiscal year was Rs 177 billion, which is 15.59 percent more than the figures compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year. During the first two months of the last fiscal year, the inflow of remittance to Nepal was Rs 153 billion.
