FNCCI Election to be Held in Late November

September 20: The election for a new executive committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has been scheduled for late November. The election has been delayed time and again due to coronavirus.

A meeting of the office bearers of FNCCI on Friday decided to hold the 45th General Assembly and election of FNCCI on November 26-27.

The date fixed for the election is yet to be approved by the executive committee of FNCCI. The umbrella body of entrepreneurs and industrialists of Nepal has called its executive committee meeting in late September to discuss about the General Assembly and the election.

The meeting will endorse the date of election, informed FNCCI Vice President Chandra Dhakal.

“We will initiate the process to seek permission from the government to hold the General Assembly before the executive committee meeting. The executive committee will decide on the modality of election,” Dhakal told New Business Age.

“The executive committee meeting is scheduled for September 27-28,” he added.

Earlier, two factions of FNCCI were divided over the date of election. But all sides have agreed to the new date of election, informed Kishor Pradhan, district vice president of FNCCI.

It has been learnt that the FNCCI is preparing to hold its General Assembly through Zoom meeting while the election will be held in Kathmandu by following the health protocols set by the government.
