January 27: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) is preparing to organize a three-day international conference from November 27 to 29 later this year. According to the NRA, it is organizing the conference with an aim to share its experiences of reconstruction after the devastating earthquake of 2015 in Nepal.
The NRA claimed that it achieved success in rebuilding most of the fallen structures in a short period of time after the earthquake hit Nepal. At present, the authority is expediting its preparation according to its objective of sharing the lessons learnt during this process with the whole world.
Joint Spokesperson of NRA, Manohar Ghimire, said that the authority has been seeking proposals for research papers to be presented in the conference. The NRA has also appealed individuals or institutions to submit a proposal to conduct study on six different subjects within February 7, 2020.
The authority has said that the investigative report should be based on different subjects such as private housing, cultural heritage, public infrastructures, livelihood and economic development among others.
