January 27: The Department of Customs has started a mobile app service for making customs service accessible through smart phones.
The department on the occasion of the 68th Customs Day on Sunday launched the mobile app for making customs clearance service accessible through mobile phone for the traders.
Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada inaugurated the mobile app named Nepal Customs Clearance during the occasion.
The mobile app can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
The department informed that it will record all the details of the traders through the app and the computer system will check the goods.
Suman Dahal, director general at the Department of Customs said during the inauguration ceremony that the department is using the latest technology to make customs service accessible online.
“We will develop single-door system and make the customs service paperless within two years,” he said.
