Government Allows various Industries to Resume Operation from Today

May 8: The government has decided to allow 44 different categories of enterprises to resume operation from Friday, May 8. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on May 6 took a decision to this effect.

Despite the risk of coronavirus infection, the government has decided to allow industries and businesses in non-infected zones to operate from Friday as the country is heading to an economic crisis.

Entrepreneurs and industrialists are getting ready to reopen the industries following the government's decision to allow industries to open after 43 days of lockdown.

Industries producing cement, iron, rods as well as food processing industries are currently engaged in managing workers to restart production.

The 44 types of enterprises include construction companies, health and education services, national pride projects, agriculture sector, hydropower projects and special economic zones (SEZ) and industrial estates.

However, industries in border areas and coronavirus-affected zones will remain closed. Meanwhile, people have demand that the government allow hardware stores to open for limited period during lockdown.
