Lockdown Period to be Counted as Public Holiday

April 28: The government has announced public holiday during the lockdown period, the national news agency RSS reported.    
According to RSS, a notification issued by the government through the Nepal Gazette states that the lockdown period starting from March 24 and the extended period will be considered as public holiday as per Clause 2 of the Communicable Diseases Act, 2020 BS.    
"The chief of the offices concerned are required to decide to maintain the period during which all government offices, bodies or industries gave a holiday, in accordance with the order issued on March 22 and various dates after that, in the case of employees or workers with the salary and allowances they are entitled to, as a public holiday," RSS quoted the notice in the Nepal Gazettee as saying.
