Nepal Telecom Expands 4G Service in Rara

December 8: Nepal Telecom has announced the launch of 4G mobile internet service in Rara Lake area, which is a renowned tourist destination.

Issuing a press statement, NT said it started the high-peed internet service for smartphones in the remote area on December 5.

The state-owned telecom company said it launched the 4G service in Karnali Province for the first time to facilitate tourists visiting the lake and also for the locals.

Nepal Telecom said that it believes the high-speed data connectivity would also help the business community promote local business.

The company said that tourists can also make live updates from the area using the service of Nepal Telecom.

According to government data, more than 60,000 tourists visit the lake situated at an altitude of 2972 meters above the sea level every year.

Nepal Telecom said in the statement that the 4G service in Rara would help promote the scenic area as a prime destination for tourists during the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign initiated by the government.
