March 3: Countries across the globe have taken various measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus outbreak but the government of Nepal hasn’t clearly mentioned if it has postponed the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign or not.
The government has however decided to stop issuing on-arrival visas in a bid to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus.
But it has not taken any decision whether to postpone the campaign or to give continuity to the ambitious programme to welcome 2 million tourists to Nepal amid such uncertainty.
It has been learnt that the cabinet meeting on Sunday decided to postpone the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign for 2022 but the official version is yet to be announced. There are only speculations right now as even the Visit Nepal Secretariat and the ministry concerned seem to be confused about the issue.
The government has neither consulted with the stakeholders nor informed them about any decision.
As the government only informs about cabinet decisions on Thursdays, the official version is still not out.
