October 17: Nepal Telecommunication Authority has decided to select Internet service provider Techmandu Networks Pvt Ltd to expand its broadband in five districts of Province 1.
NTA is planning to sign a deal worth Rs 469.90 million with Techmandu Networks for the project.
The company has to start providing Internet service in Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Udayapur within one and a half years after signing the deal.
NTA Spokesperson Min Prasad Aryal said that the deal will be signed within two weeks.
Aryal said that NTA aims to provide high-speed Internet services in municipalities, rural municipalities, ward offices, health posts and public schools of the five districts.
