Delay in Preparing DPR Casts Doubt on Construction of Bridges

October 17: Almost half the work of the six-lane Attariya-Dhangadhi road has been completed but the authorities are yet to prepare the detailed project report of three bridges which fall along the road section.

The government is preparing to construct three bridges, one each over Mohana River, Manahara River and Geta River along the road section.

However, the road project informed New Business Age that the construction of the bridges have become uncertain as the concerned authorities are yet to prepare the DPR. Engineer Thaneshwar Khatri said that although the consultant company had prepared the DPR and presented t the Bridge Department, the DPR was returned back for revision by the department.

The lack of DPR has also affected the process of inviting bid for the construction of the bridges, informed the project chief Hom Bahadur AC.
