Chimney Lighting Ceremony to Welcome Winter

November 19: Hotel Yak and Yeti organised a chimney lighting ceremony at its Chimney Restaurant recently to welcome the winter. In a statement, the hotel said it has been lighting the chimney every year in mid-November ever since the establishment of the restaurant.

“The lighting of chimney is also perceived as welcoming the winter in Kathmandu. The chimney will be lit until February 15 every year,” the statement said.

The chimney was jointly lit by Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Wellage Swarnalatha Perera, Ambassador of the UAE to Nepal Saeed Hamdan Al Naqei and Monika Scheiblauer, general manager of Hotel Yak & Yeti.

Seated in the quaint palatial wing of the hotel's edifice, the Chimney Restaurant was re-launched on October 13 this year with a new menu and an ambience with an extended outdoor terrace seating in the beautiful garden.
