February 27: Khalti, one of the emerging digital wallets and payment gateways in Nepal, said that the application has crossed 100,000 downloads on Google Play Store.

The app hit the milestone shortly after one year of its launch in the Nepali market. The recent growth comes after the company’s ‘refer-and-earn’ offer that has become an internet sensation in Nepal recently.

Similar to the Android app, Khalti claimed that its iOS app is also getting wonderful responses. Its iOS app download recently crossed 10,000 downloads.

“We believe that this has marked the starting of the era of cashless economy in Nepal,” the company said in a statement.
