Century Bank Introduces Multi Currency Card Service

November 16: Century Commercial Bank has launched a multi-currency card service amid an event on Wednesday, November 15. The bank has brought the multi-currency card for the first time in Nepal by collaborating with Axis Bank of India. With this, now the Nepalis won’t have to face any difficulty to exchange foreign currency of different countries. Currencies of 16 countries can be loaded in the same multi-currency card service and taken along. This card will bring relief to those customers who are facing shortage of foreign currencies.

“The transaction is difficult without the use of technology in today’s world, so, the banks should focus on bringing new technologies. The initiation of Century Bank to bring this product has helped to promote digital economy in the country,” said Shiva Raj Shrestha, deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Anil Keshari Shah, president of Bankers Association of Nepal, shared that this card will minimize the risk of loss of remittance and cash theft while exchanging the US dollars with other currencies.

Along with the card, the company also started the Indo-Nepal Easy Remit and Mobile Banking Service in collaboration with Axis Bank.  With its objective to promote digital economy, the bank has also launched a mobile app. “Through this app, the customers can transfer money and make utility payments. Payments to different vendors can be made through this app,” said Jiwan Bhattarai, CEO of Century Bank.
