Chaudhary Group to Further Invest Rs 50 billion in Nepal

March 28: Chaudhary Group (CG), a leading industrial group in Nepal has announced to invest Rs 50 billion in various sectors in upcoming three years in Nepal.

Speaking at a press conference on March 27, Binod Chaudhary, Chairman of the Chaudhary Group informed that the company will invest in sectors such as hydropower, cement, hotels, real-estate and industrial parks.

According to Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of the company, the company will invest Rs 300 million to enhance production of Wai-Wai noodles inside Chaudhary Industrial Park in Nawalparasi district. He informed that the company will invest Rs 500 million to establish another Wai-Wai plant in Sunsari district of eastern Nepal.

According to Managing Director Nirvana, the company will further invest Rs 250 million for the production of Rio Juice, a soft drink and other products.

He also informed that they will invest an additional Rs one billion in beverage products such as - Nepal Ice.

Likewise, the company shared that it will invest Rs 8.5 billion in cement industry with under construction clinker plant in Palpa district of western Nepal.

Chaudhary Group has already prepared to invest Rs 2.8 billion in Madhyamodi Hydropower project with a capacity of 15.1 megawatts of electricity. Likewise, the company will invest Rs 7.5 billion in Super Madi Hydropower project having a capacity of 44 megawatts.

 Chairman and Nepali billionaire Binod Chaudhary, who is listed in the ‘Forbes’ list of billionaires holds the view that 50 percent of property valued by Forbes should remain in Nepal itself.
