Soaltee Celebrates Golden Jubilee

November 27: Soaltee Crowne Plaza celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee on November 25. Upaul Majumdar, General Manager of Soaltee Hotel opened the programme and Prabhakar SJB Rana, Chairman Emeritus of the hotel gave a welcome speech. He announced two new ventures of Soaltee Hotel outside Kathmandu.  "We are building new hotels in Nepalgunj followed by Pokhara soon," said Rana.  Chief Guests for the programme Amar Man Shakya, President of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Suman Pandey, President of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Chandra Prashad Rijal, President of Trekking Agency Association of Nepal (TAAN), DK Sharma, Vice-President of Nepal Association of Tours and Travel Agents (NATTA), President of NATTA unveiled the memento for the 50th Anniversary during the celebration event.  Shantha De Silva, Head of South West Asia at Intercontinental Hotel Group shared an insightful presentation on trends in 2016 based on IHG study and reports. The celebration observed guests participating from government authorities, foreign diplomatic missions in Nepal, corporate customers, travel partners, members from tourism related associations. Similarly, representatives from  Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Nepal India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI),  Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Nepal China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) were also present in the event.

 

Late Prince Himalaya Shah Dev and Late Princess Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah started Soaltee Hotel in 1965 as the first five star hotel in the country. The hotel was inaugurated by Late KIng Mahendra Shah on 25 November, 1966.
