Job Fair for People with Disabilities in November

September 28: A two-day employment fair is being organized in Biratnagar to ensure employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Province 1 chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries is collaborating with private sector organisations to conduct the fair on November 4 and 5.

The organisers said during a press conference held in Biratnagar on Tuesday that  the fair will be held with the slogan, “Let’s not leave people with disabilities out of employment, let’s all join hands to build the nation”.

Rajendra Raut, vice president of Province 1 chapter of FNCCI that the private sector is also responsible for ensuring employment opportunities to people with disabilities and therefore they are organizing this fair.

More than 100 employers and 300 service seekers from Province 1 will be present at the same venue to create employment opportunities for disabled people from Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Ilam, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, and other districts of the province. Vice President Raut informed that stalls related to health, education, production, hospitality, garment, bank, development partners, small industries, sewing/cutting among others will be arranged to test the ability of prospective employees.

The Employment Fair is being jointly organized by the FNCCI, The Leprosy Mission, National Federation of the Disabled Nepal and Karuna Foundation.  

The fair will be coordinated by the Ministry of Social Development of Province 1 while other partners of the fair include Morang Chamber of Commerce, Morang Merchants Association, Nepal Cottage and Small Industries’ Federation, Birat Business Association.
