July 19: The CPN (UML) has decided to deploy its elected people's representatives to monitor the market in view of soaring inflation.
UML deputy general secretary Pradeep Gyawali shared this information at an event organised on Monday by the party's Department of Consumers' Welfare Protection and Good Governance.
The main opposition party resorted to this move as prices of essentials have soared allegedly due to interferences by middlepersons. Gyawali said this happened because the regulator of the state has become 'weak'. He stressed the need for controlling inflation.
On the occasion, the Department chief Yagya Raj Sunuwar accused the government of failing to control inflation. -- RSS
