Airlines Companies Hike Air Fare  

November 15: Airline companies have increased the airfare of domestic flights after Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) increased the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF). The Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) decided to increase the fuel surcharge along with the airfare after the price of aviation turbine fuel was increased by Rs 5 per litre.  

According to the increased fare, the fuel surcharge for Kathmandu-Dhangadhi flights has been increased by Rs 220. Likewise, Rs 175 has been increased in Kathmandu-Surkhet route, Rs 105 for Kathmandu-Bhairahawa route and Rs 80 for Kathmandu-Pokhara route.

The fare hike has come into effect from Monday (November 15). With the increment of Rs 5, the price of aviation turbine fuel has reached Rs 101 per liter. Earlier, the price of aviation fuel was Rs 96.

Prior to this, the domestic airline companies had also increased the price of air tickets on November 3 after the NOC hiked the price of ATF in late October.
