Supply Chain of Construction Materials Affected: FCAN

May 6: The Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN) has reportedly stated that the construction entrepreneurs and stakeholders are facing difficulties to carry out construction works due to the ongoing prohibitory order issued in the capital and other districts.
The FCAN said in a statement that the movement of vehicles supplying construction materials have been obstructed in different places, and are not given an easy access by security forces.

Although factories are producing construction materials, the supply chain and availability of the produced goods have been badly affected as dealers and distributors have not been allowed to operate their business, FCAN noted.
The statement further says that FCAN’s attention was drawn seriously to the unusual price hike of construction materials during the time of prohibitory order.
The statement issued by general secretary of FCAN Roshan Dahal also added that construction work is likely to be affected in densely-populated areas and some other construction sites.
