Bottlers Nepal Limited Receives Grant for its Energy Saving Initiatives

December 17: Bottlers Nepal Limited, the company that manufactures Coca-Cola, has been awarded with a grant of Rs 5.2 million for its efforts on energy saving initiatives.

According to the company, the grant is a part of “Nepal Energy Efficiency Programme”, designed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development for Energy Efficiency initiatives in the Nepali industry.

Bottlers Nepal Limited said in a statement that it bagged the grant based on its two leading initiatives which includes the installation of a new compressor with VFD compatibility and installation of energy efficient screw blower for ETP. The fundamental aim of these initiatives was driven by Coca-Cola’s global sustainability objective of reducing carbon footprint to 25 percent by 2020, added the statement.

Pradip Pandey, managing director of Bottlers Nepal Limited, shared, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award from the Government of Nepal and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. We have set ambitious goals throughout our supply chain and will continue to make several changes in our equipment and technology to support our approach to reduce emissions and save energy”. He further added, “Such recognitions motivate our teams to stay committed to our global sustainability initiatives.”

Bottlers Nepal limited said it strives for energy efficiency at both its plants in Kathmandu and Bhartapur, and invests in new technologies through several other initiatives, creating energy and carbon efficiencies through the entire value chain.
