September 5: Zonta Club Kathmandu, with support from Everest Bank Ltd, has built a toilet in Balsiddha Basic School, Madhyabindu Municipality Ward No 15, Nawalparasi. 

According to a press statement issued by the club, Prabhat Upreti, deputy manager of Everest Bank’s Narayanghat Branch and Seema Golchha, president-elect of Zonta Club Kathmandu, visited the school to hand over the toilet to the chairperson of the School Management Committee. 

 They also revealed that the lack of toilets in schools is one of the reasons for girls to drop out of school. The club said building a toilet was their way of preventing girls from dropping out of school.
