June 24: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is ready to make gold available to jewelers for export-oriented business, according to NRB Governor Chiranjibi Nepal.
Addressing the 15th annual general meeting of Nepal Gem and Jewellery Association, Governor Nepal said that the central bank is always there to support the traders involved in transparent transaction.
“The central bank will provide financial support to import machineries required to extract precious stones. NRB is willing to help the traders interested in exporting jewelleries representing Nepali culture and tradition to the international market.
Similarly, Bhawani Rana, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), said that exporting jewelleries to foreign markets could decrease the ballooning trade deficit. She further added that the country should focus on refining precious stones and export them to the international markets.
