Nepal Needs “Branding and Marketing” to Promote Tourism

June 9: Speakers at the Media Conference of the third edition of Himalayan Travel Mart said on Saturday that Nepal needs branding and marketing to promote tourism.

The four-day event which kicked off in the capital on Thursday, June 6, aims to promote Nepal as the “Gateway to the Himalayas” and an adventure tourism destination.

Norie Quintos of National Geographic Travel said this age belongs to the digital world and each country needs to brand itself accordingly.

Janicke Hansen, president of Professional Travel Blogger Association (PTBA), said that marketing plays a crucial role in promoting tourism.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is organising the four-day event in Kathmandu from June 6 to 9 in collaboration with Nepal Chapter of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and different stakeholders of the tourism sector.

About 700 delegates from 43 countries are taking part in the Third Himalayan Travel Mart including 140+ international and national guests and delegates.
