Icefall Doctors Reach Atop Everest on Tuesday

May 15: Mountaineers have scaled four peaks for the first time this season. Altogether 24 Sherpas and five tourists made the successful climb of four popular peaks on Tuesday, May 14.

According to the Department of Tourism, 24 icefall doctors stood atop Everest on Tuesday while fixing ropes for other climbers.

Though the department had given permission to start the expedition from March 1, the first successful expedition was recorded only on May 14.

Altogether 24 Sherpas ascended Everest, Kanchanjangha, Lhotse, and Makalu in different intervals of time.
