Snowfall in Dolpa for the Sixth Time

February 20: Dolpa district has witnessed snowfall once again. This is the sixth time that snowfall occurred in the district this season. Tripurakot, Chal, Pahada, Karelidanda, Jufal among other places have been covered in a blanket of snow following heavy rainfall on Monday night.

Life in Dolpa has come to a standstill due to the early morning snowfall. According to the locals, snowfall occurred continuously for two hours on Tuesday morning.

Flights at Dopla’s Jufal Airport have been obstructed due to the snowfall. A thick layer of snow has deposited on the runway, causing cancellation of flights. Chief of the Civil Aviation Authority of Jufal Airport, Bal Kumar Singh told New Business Age that no flights from Nepalgunj have been cancelled due to the snowfall.

The airport authorities say that they might be able to resume air service if the snow melts by Wednesday.
